I n his fictional account, Geoff Akers explores one of the most hotly-disputed and controversial issues in the world today. Through the lives of two men, grandfather and grandson, the author attempts to shed light on the contradictions at the heart of the modern state of Israel. In the words of the late Tony Benn, “Of Winter’s Cost is such a human book, which will greatly move readers to an understanding of the human condition…” Geoff Akers graduated with honours from Aberdeen University, where he read History and English literature. To date he has published two novels: “Beating for Light - the story of Isaac Rosenberg”, and “Of Winter’s Cost”. He is currently working to complete a third novel relating to the aftermath of the 1745 Jacobite rebellion in Scotland, Canada and America.
