The Pentlands Book Festival coincides with Book Week Scotland and is organised by local folk for the community in conjunction with Currie and Colinton Libraries and, this year, Currie’s Corner Café. COVID 19
Organised by and for the community, the Festival brings an eclectic mix of events with literally something for everyone: local history, local authors, and inspirational writing on cycling and walking. Last year the Festival went virtual to keep the Festival spirit alive during lock-down and the Zoom events proved popular. Everyone enjoyed the content, but being essentially a community event, so much was missing. This year it was decided to go back to live events, but to strictly limit numbers and adhere to any Covid control regulations in operation at the time. This decision means two things: Events will be limited in number and smaller than we would like ... so book early, and if you can’t come - for whatever reason - let us know so we can operate a waiting list. Secondly, events may be liable to cancellation at short notice and we will need an email address to keep you informed should circumstances change. Events are free, with the opportunity to donate, and will be held at Currie Library and, for the first time, at the Corner Café - Full details are on the Events page.

COVID 19 CANCELLATION It is with regret that we report that Mark Beaumont has tested positive for Covid and that we have no option but to cancel the event on the 22nd November. We wish Mark a speedy recovery and hope he will be at next year’s Pentlands Book Festival.
