The focus of this event will be Sara’s series of crime noir novels, set in post-war Brighton in the 1950s.
Edinburgh-based novelist Sara Sheridan will talk about her cosy crime noir murder mysteries, featuring Mirabelle Bevan.  Set in Brighton in the 1950s, there are now six novels in the series which has been optioned by STV.  She may also be tempted to talk about her other historical works. Sara is a prolific and talented writer.  As well as the Bevan mysteries she has written a set of novels based on the real-life stories of late Georgian and early Victorian explorers and adventurers.  Her children’s picture book “I’m Me” has appeared on CBeebies on several occasions.  Sara was recently commissioned to write a tie-in book for the STV series “Victoria”. Recent successes include Sara’s portrait, painted by Sophie McKay Knight, being displayed at the National Galleries of Scotland, and being named as one of Scotland’s 365 most influential women, past and present, by the Saltire Society.
