Alan Bissett Event Rescheduled to 12 December

Hello all. We did not expect to be writing again so soon. Still, we have an important update. We are also including information about how to donate and volunteer.

Change of date for Alan Bissett

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE FOR ALAN BISSETT TO 12 DECEMBER. STILL TANNERS AT 7.30PM

We regret to inform you that we had to reschedule Alan Bissett’s appearance. The new date is Thursday 12 December, instead of Thursday 28 November. Alan has been awarded a prestigious literary award for his book “LADS”. Unfortunately, the ceremony is in London and it is on the 28 November. He sends his apologies but hopes that everyone can make the new date. It will still be at Tanners and a 7.30pm start.

We hope everyone can make the new date and apologise for the inconvenience. Please use the ticket(s) you already have as they will be valid for the revised date.

If you cannot join us on the new date, please cancel your ticket(s). If you have difficulty doing so, email russell.salton@outlook.com and we will do it for you.

Again our apologies for this change but we hope to see you there. If in the meantime you need an extra PBF fix, we have a few tickets left. Derek Forbes has tickets for Tuesday and Billy Kay is performing on 4 November. All details on our website.

Donations

If you would like to help support us please give a donation on the Crowdfunder website. No donation too small. With your help, we hope to keep going another ten years.

Our Crowdfunder account is only open for a small number of weeks until just after the festival ends. So if you plan to donate, please don’t hesitate or the account will be gone!

The PBF is run by volunteers and does not aim to make a profit. But we still have costs to cover including printing the flyers and banners, some venue hire and author fees.

If you would like to volunteer to help keep the PBF running, get in touch via the website.

Rebranding

The Pentlands Book Festival is in its tenth year. We are celebrating with new branding. You’ve seen this on our new website. It is also around the villages on the outdoor banners and at the author events on the indoor pop-up banners.

This year we have decided to make book marks available at the events in exchange for donations. Also, we have procured a PBF ink stamp. It can be used to commemorate the occasion by customers purchasing books at PBF events .
