Pentlands Book Festival Timeline
In 2015 the Pentlands Book Festival grew out of discussions between the Community Councils of Juniper Green and Currie. Founding members were Richard Watt, Alison Munro, Linda Stewart the Librarian, Russell Salton, Tricia Lumsden, Neil Ingram and Liz and Cliff Beevers.
They wanted to find a way for people from the two communities to meet one another and share their love of books. Authors would be paid and, working with Scottish Book Trust, we would focus on Book Week Scotland in November. Collaboration with the helpful staff of Currie and Colinton libraries was crucial from the start.
