2016: New venues, children’s events, Local Authors, poetry and science added

We built on the strands of programming from the previous year, adding several children’s events, thanks to Calum Brooks, music from the famous folklorist Margaret Bennett, a schools’ writing competition, a Scientific Supper, Kathleen Jamie (soon to be Scotland’s Makar) and a Local Authors showcase.

New venues were added: Al Borgo the restaurant, and Colinton Library.  Mark Porteous funeral parlour offered hospitality to us for an evening session, complete with generous refreshments.  Mike Scott, Irene Grant and Carol Tweedie joined the committee.  Martin Bone produced a new logo and format for the publicity.

Pentlands Book Festival undertook some direct bookselling.  But found it complicated!
